Instructions

OVEN DIRECTIONS:

Step 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Grab both ends of one slice of bacon. Twist the bacon into a spiral. Be sure to twist the slice tightly. Place on the baking sheet, pressing each end to the paper—this keeps the twist tight.

Step 3. Top the slices evenly with half of the seasoning. Cook for 20 minutes.

Step 4. Remove the pan from the oven, carefully flip the bacon, twisting carefully (use tongs to protect your hands) if necessary. Season with the remaining seasoning. Return bacon twists to the oven and cook for another 20 minutes.

Step 5. In the last 5 minutes of baking, brush the twists with Bar-B-Q sauce. Return the twists to the oven to bake until crispy. Remove twists to drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Serve, and enjoy!

GRILL/SMOKER DIRECTIONS:

Step 1. Preheat grill or smoker to 325 degrees F.

Step 2. Select your favorite cast-iron griddle, or set out a piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil just large enough for the bacon. Grab both ends of one slice of bacon. Twist the bacon into a spiral. Be sure to twist the slice tightly. Place on the cold griddle or aluminum foil, pressing down on each end—this keeps the twist tight.

Step 3. Top the slices with half the seasoning. Add the griddle or aluminum foil to the grates, over indirect heat. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until just starting to crisp.

Step 4. Carefully flip the bacon, twisting carefully (use tongs to protect your hands) if necessary. Season with the remaining seasoning. Remove twists to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve bundled in mason jars or piled up on serving plates with dipping sauces.

Step 5. In the last few minutes of cooking, brush the twists with Bar-B-Q sauce. Return the twists to the grill or smoker to cook until crispy. Remove twists to drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Serve, and enjoy!
